Newport Beach Day

Angie's friend Raegan and her family invited us to go the the beach with them. The weather has been warmer and so off we went to Newport Beach. When we first got there Angie was so excited she kept running around Raegan squealing.
Angie did a pretty good job getting sand everywhere. Other friends came too and we had so much fun playing in the sand, running away from waves and finding sand crabs.
Angie awake and smiling while wearing Mommy's hat.
Seconds later she was fast asleep. Like I said, it was a great day at the beach.

Monkey Backpack Duo

We went to the local farmers market with our friends. Angie and her friend Raegan have the same monkey leash backpack. It was so cute to see them running around holding onto each others leash.

Planting the Garden

My Dad and Brother decided to give me the service of helping plant my garden. I am not sure when we (meaning Andy, poor guy is so overbooked already) would be able to get to it otherwise. Being hugely pregnant it was not something I was going to do on my own.
We don't have a huge garden space but a nice little space. About all I can handle for right now anyway.
In the planter box on the back row is watermelon, yellow beans and green beans. The middle row has two different types of carrots. The front row has a tomato plant, orange bell pepper and zucchini.
One box has sugar snap peas and the other has bush peas.
This is my little herb container. I have parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, cilantro, basil, oregano and chives. I also have two other containers filled with strawberries.
We had a great time and really appreciate the help with the garden and giving Angie love and attention. Thanks Daddo and Cameron!

Kate's Birthday Party

Angie's sweet friend Kate was having a Birthday so I decided to try and make a crafty present. The top flower is a hair clip.
It was a beautiful day. Sweet Kate has a baby sister that is going through some serious medical problems (click here for link) so I was glad we could go to her party and help her feel special for her Birthday.
The kids played pin the princess kisses on the frog.
Kate, Raegan and Angie used to do a weekly playgroup and are great friends.

Angie enjoys a good bounce house :)
Then it was pinata time. Raegan takes a swing.
Angie got a good hit.
Mmmmm, time for Kate's princess Birthday cake.
We had a great time. As with most parties Angie does not sit to eat until all the fun to be had is over. Happy Birthday Kate, we pray for you and your family daily!

Swimming Lessons

I don't know what Angie will decide to do for fun sports or art when she gets older but Andy and I feel it is important for all of our kids to learn how to swim. We decided to sign her up for swimming lessons at CalElite. I like it because it is not too expensive and the pool is heated and indoors. No need to worry about the weather or rushing to get sunblock on before her lesson.
She is doing well. She jumps out to her teacher Jessica, puts her face in the water, kicks and floats on her back. She is still to afraid to dive for the rings on the bottom, she drinks the water (YUCK) and has a hard time sitting still when it is not her turn. All these things are fairly normal and we are very proud of her progress.

Bath Time for Tristan

Poor little Tristan was having some allergies to something (who knew dogs had allergies), so Darby decided to give him a bath. He looks so submissive and miserable.
Angie was happy to "help" give Tristan a bath.
Cute little all clean Tristan. Later this night Darby and Tristan had to drive back home. We were super sad to see them leave and that the drive home was so miserable for them. We really appreciate them visiting.

Fun with Aunt Darby and Tristan

While Aunt Darby and her puppy Tristan visited I am not sure which one Angie enjoyed playing with more. It was nice to let Angie and Tristan wear each other out. Here Tristan is not sure he wants a new bunking buddy though.
Angie loved to follow Tristan everywhere. On a side note I dressed Angie in size 4T clothes today expecting at least the pants to be a little bit long. They were not long at all! This sweet little girl is only 2.5 years old, what is she thinking fitting in size 4T??!!?

Sometimes You Just Need to Read

Sometimes you just need to read. Actually listening to her she is pretty accurate.

Grandpa Bob's Birthday 2011

We were so excited for Grandpa Bob to come over for his Birthday. Angie was happy to cuddle with him and watch some Curious George.
Angie gives Grandpa Bob a Birthday kiss.

Tristan shows off his tricks.
Mmmmm, who does not like a strawberry?
Aunt Darby reads Angie a nap time story while Tristan catches some Z's on the Elmo chair.
Then Tristan moves to the couch for a nap time with the Birthday Boy.
We had a yummy dinner of appetizer foods and then as a special treat Darby had made a homemade coconut cream pie at Grandpa Bob's request. YUMMY! I will let others eat their cake, I will take the pie!

Fun with a relighting candle :)
Angie enjoys a piggy back ride with Daddy. We had a fun day with Aunt Darby, Grandpa Bob and then Daddy, Uncle Cameron and Grandma Kris later in the evening. Happy Birthday Grandpa Bob!

A cute pirate onsie made by Meredith.
There were so many delicious desserts!

I am so glad that my sister was able to be there!
A great big thanks to Leslie for organizing everything and letting us invade her home.

Fun with Tristan Visiting

Darby's dog Tristan makes himself at home with his toys.

Angie had fun playing Tug O War with Tristan's new toy.
Tristan enjoyed "helping" me make Angie's new blackout bedroom curtains.

Suubi's Baby Shower

My beautiful friend Suubi is expecting her first baby. We had a wonderful little shower for her.
Okay I am not thrilled with how I look in this picture. First off I am one month further along than Suubi and second she is like two feet taller than me. I am still happy that I was able to spend time with Suubi celebrating her upcoming baby boy.
They are going to name him Elisha and call him Eli. I love it!
