Play Group # 3 My Turn

This week play group was our turn to have Angie's friends play at our house. Aiden was stolen by his Grandpa so he was not there with us. After some free play and a very short singing time we went outside to play and then have some snacks.
Raegan caught enjoying a nice bite.
Kate was nice and happy.
Angie just nibbled on her snack. After eating some strawberries went went to our small garden to see actual strawberry plants and learn where strawberries come from and how they grow. We also picked some carrots and learned how they grow under the ground.
My tomato plant had been quite disappointing this year so a couple days ago when I saw a caterpillar on it I decided to leave it there and use it as a teaching tool for the kids at play group. They were very interested but also frightened. Then after that the animal encounters continued with a little dime sized green frog on the slide. They were all so scared none of them would go near the slide after seeing the frog. They all wanted a chance to see it though while being held safely in my arms.
Next we went inside and danced and sang to the alphabet song and farm animals on the fridge.
Time for some coloring. We learned the letter W for white ghosts and witches.
We also made ghosts on dum dum suckers with facial tissue and some string.
Raegan loved using the toddler crayons.
Angie used a good variety while Kate lost interest in coloring quickly.
After the coloring we played with the dress up clothes and then it was time to go. We had a fun time and Angie did better at sharing her toys than I thought she would. We just need to work on her being less physically aggressive.
