A Walk in Your Shoes

Another patriotic outfit that she looks darling in! I wonder how long she will let me pick out her clothes?
Whenever she see's glasses she has to try them on. She looks cute in all of them!
Another obsession of Angie's is trying on shoes. Here she is trying on Daddy's shoes.

Now walking around in Mommy's shoes. Watch out Angie, walking in Mommy's shoes may make you tired, at least is does to me.
Saying cheese to the camera with Mommy.

It is a "Cell" not a "Phone"

I love to dress my little Angie in patriotic outfits. She is just so dang cute! Here she is roaming around with Daddy's iPhone but whenever we call it a phone she corrects by saying it is a "Cell". Yikes I am already the old out of date Mom.

Reading Buzz with Grandpa Bob

Grandpa Bob enjoyed spoiling Angie with one of her new favorite things, a Buzz Lightyear book and someone to read it to her.

DNA Test?

This is how Angie eats her ice cream cone. She only likes the cone and not the ice cream. We think we need a DNA test because Andy and I both LOVE ice cream, so I am not if she is related to us?

Family Dinner at Cafe Rio

We were invited to go out to dinner at Cafe Rio with a bunch of families from church. Angie was excited to have dinner with her BFF Rae.
Grandpa Bob came too and brought his trusty camera. Here is video of Andy holding our friends baby Emmett and Angie poking at him.

Garden Before and After

Now that we have a yard it is time to start putting it to use. I used some planter boxes for adding better soil and planted some green beans, yellow beans and sugar snap peas. This gives us something other than dirt and fence to look at out our side window.
Here is the beautiful grass lined by a flowerbed full of weeds. This is the before picture.
Here is the after picture. We transplanted the day lilies. You can see the weeds have regrown, never ending I tell ya! The day lilies are not my favorite but will do until we have money/time to put something else in.
Here is the before from where the day lilies were originally.
Here is the after, Andy built a planter box and we added better soil and planted zucchini plants, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and strawberries. While trying to dig the holes for the posts Andy discovered how rocky the soil here really is. We were singing "The wise man built his house upon a rock".
After a few weeks we got our first zucchini. I like the green but do not like the yellow. Any volunteers to take the yellow ones? Hopefully lots more homegrown food to come :)

FHE at the Park

The weather has been splendid with a small breeze so I decided to try and buy at $3 Toy Story kite to try out for Family Home Evening (FHE). We invited our friends and neighbors David, Leslie and Rae to join us.
Andy helps the girls to get the kite going.

Here Rae takes off with the kite. It was a little difficult because you had to keep moving to keep it up but the girls wanted to be able to turn around to see Buzz and Woody up in the air.
When we were done with the kite we went over to the park to play on the swings. Her happy face brings joy to my heart!

These two sure love to play together. It is nice that they are getting big enough to enjoy swinging on the big kid swings because there are not many parks with the baby swings nearby, at least not close enough to walk to.
Daddy had some fun with Angie on the slide. I am so grateful for the beautiful area we live in and to enjoy time together here.

Long Beach Aquarium

We all met up at the Long Beach Aquarium to celebrate Grandpa Bob's Birthday. Angie loves spending time with family. Here she is with Uncle Cameron.
Wow Angie, that is one Giant Sea Bass!
That sure is a lot of teeth.
I got to feed the rays.
Aunt Darby got to feed the rays as well.

Here is video of Darby feeding the not so smart rays.
Next we went to the touch tanks. Angie gets to use her curiosity.

Video of Angie at the touch tanks.
Mommy shows Angie the beauty of jellies.
Such beautiful colors in nature.
Watch out for that shark Grandpa Bob!

Sharks are really beautiful animals.
We learned what the formal name for Dory was.

I find rays to be such fascinating creatures. They feel so slimy and look very unique especially from below. Somehow they just look happy to me.

Angie enjoy's watching "Mr Ray".
Angie gets up close to "Mr Ray", can you tell that she loves Finding Nemo?

Such interesting and unique animals. You can hear Angie point out Dory in this video.
Then we found the Finding Nemo treasure. It was a whole tank filled with Dorys, Nemos and Marlins!

Angie waves to Nemo and Dory in this video.
We learned some interesting things about what fish can do.
I have to say that the tropical tanks were my favorite. I just love all the colors displayed in nature.
A pretty frog.
A seahorse that looks like seaweed.
We got a little family photo with so many photographers around.
Then we went out to Island's for dinner. Here Angie is showing Grandpa Bob and Grandma Kris her mad game playing skills on the "cell".
Then we had a group photo taken on our way out. It was a very busy but fun day! Happy Birthday Grandpa Bob, thanks for the excuse to celebrate.

Last Free YMCA Swim Lesson and Kate's Party

I am sad to say that today was our last free YMCA swim lesson. We have really enjoyed this time to have fun while learning safety in the water.
I have loved looking at the many smiles made during this fun time.

Here is a video from her last swim lesson this summer. It is Angie doing her favorite thing. Climbing out of the water and jumping back in to her Daddy.
After the swim lesson we went to the Beach Club to go to Angie's friend Kate's Second Birthday Party. Here Andy is playing life guard with Angie and her BFF Rae.
Kate and Rae frolicking around.
Happy Birthday Kate! Hope you had a fun special day.

A New Hairdo

I tried to do something new with Angie's hair today, a zig zag part in her hair. It looked okay at first but by the end of the day you couldn't really tell it was anything different from any other day. I am just grateful Angie lets me do her hair at all.

Free YMCA Swim Lessons, Take Three & Temple

We look forward to Angie's swim lessons on Saturdays. She loves them and we love watching her have so much fun.
Just look at those smiles :)

Some more Itsy Bitsy Spider. I love how she claps at the end of the songs.

She still loves to climb out and jump into her Daddy's arms. Just thinking of the faith that she has in us as her parents is amazing. I hope we can live up to the faith that she has in us.

Some more reaching out for the ball.
Next was Angie's new favorite thing to do. They went in the shallow end where the kiddos could stand up on their own. They were learning monster arms to use their arms for balance and practicing using their arms for swimming. I love Andy's monster face in this picture.

Here is a video of Angie's monster arms.

One of my main goals with her swimming this summer is for her to go all the way under the water and not be upset. She goes under many times in this video, one time it even looks like she is trying to dive and swim. I am so proud of her but also know that we need to still keep a close eye on her around water.

Here Angie has so much fun running around and the senior swim instructor congratulates her for going all the way under the water.
Angie was having so much fun that we stayed for a half an hour afterwords to have more fun.
Here Angie does "thank you" in sign language to her junior instructor.
Angie borrowed a little duck to play with and carried it with her everywhere.
Playing more climb out and jump in to Daddy. Such a fun day at the pool.
Andy got a call from one of the couple missionaries he served with in the Mission office on his mission, many moons ago. They were in town from Nevada for a family wedding. Their grandson married a girl from a family here locally. Here are "Phil" and "Ludean" (used to calling them Elder & Sister...)
If cute little monkey would of just stood still for a second, we could of got some nice pictures. She was so interested in the water fountains.
